Hello I am John.
It was my first year in college when I knew it had to be photography...nothing else was nearly as interesting. I dove in head first, committed early, and pursued no other option. After all this time I'm lucky to be involved in an art that continues to evolve. I truly freaking love it; long time.
Having spent 16 pixel-intensive years as an independent full-time wedding photographer, my greatest strength as an artist matured into being able to quickly interpret a scene, communicate compelling ideas to my clients, and efficiently execute those ideas into a series of consistently strong images.
When I'm not behind the camera I'm usually doing exciting basic stuff like sharing cat memes with my wife, engaging in deep conversations with the dog, or having heated debates with my toddler about which color crayon tastes best. For those curious, it's blue.
I am a man of frustrating detail. I personally photograph, produce, and fulfill every aspect of my projects in-house, as that yields the proper control required to reach a level of expected quality. And when I say in-house I do mean literally, at home. Sometimes in my pjs...ok fine, all the time. And because I commit f̶o̶r̶e̶v̶e̶r̶,̶ ̶w̶a̶a̶a̶y̶ ̶t̶o̶o̶ ̶m̶u̶c̶h̶,̶ ̶o̶b̶s̶e̶s̶s̶i̶v̶e̶l̶y̶-̶d̶r̶i̶v̶e̶n̶ ̶l̶a̶t̶e̶ ̶n̶i̶g̶h̶t̶s̶  just the right amount of attention towards making you, my clients, look ludicrously good...my annual calendar is tight.
Ultra low volume. Crazy clean aesthetic. Welcome to the good stuff.

Should the idea of commissioning me to be creative on your behalf excite you to the point of losing sleep, please reach out and say hello! I love love love to nerd with people on what's possible, and appreciate those who value ideas and what may come of them. I find it helpful to start all my projects with the simple question:
"wouldn't it be cool if we could               (fill in this blank. and please, go wild)              in our photos?"
Once we get the ball rolling you can expect some honest ideas from me on how we can best capture what may be your most treasured moments yet, before they've come and gone.
